Five Tuloy FC players were selected to be part of the U19 Boys Philippine National Team and they recently played two friendly games against Guam. In their second game, three goals came from the Tuloy kids, Harry James Nuñez and Cyril James Saut. Trained by coach Taketomo, all 5 Tuloy boys took part and have shown quality in the "Tuloy FC way."
Pato said, "I’m proud of myself because I never thought I’d be selected for the National Team. My dream of playing and representing my country has finally come true.” He and his 4 teammates share the same sentiments, filled with gratitude and pride to represent the Philippines. They all made it to the final 24 for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) tournaments. The team flew to Indonesia on June 29 to participate in the tournaments. They will then fly to Oman to compete in the July and September games.
Established in 2013, Luenthai, in partnership with Tuloy Foundation, continues to hone the skills of our kids through an academy for youth development via football and social awareness activities. Luenthai believes football can be a "School for Life" where it instills and develops attitudes, values, proper habits, and necessary skills to be successful in life. It can also be an alternative skill or even a possible means of livelihood for graduating children that trains them to be future trainers or coaches.
In 2015, team coach Taketomo had already been training the boys even when he was coaching Chelsea Soccer School Hong Kong. He already saw the boys' potential, which later convinced him to keep training them in Tuloy. He then moved to Manila and was hired as the Program Director and Coach for Tuloy FC in 2017.
For 5 years, Luenthai has hosted an annual football tournament in Clark called the "Luenthai Cup," where 100 local schools and teams participated. In 2018, Tuloy hosted a football tournament called the 'XO Cup,' where international and local teams participated. International groups such as Chelsea Soccer School Hong Kong and the Northern Mariana Islands competed. Also, Luenthai hired coach Ryo Uchibe, a top Japanese physiotherapist, to join the team.
LTH CEO donated the following: 2018, an artificial field named 'XO Field for XO Kids,' where the bleachers have an L-shape design and can hold 800 spectators. 2019, a two-story dormitory that can accommodate 30 guests named 'RJ Twins Football Home,' which can be used during football meetings to review games and presentations. 2020, a training facility dedicated to futsal (indoor football) called the 'The Fundemic' multipurpose building, while Jerry Tan donated the football equipment.
During the lockdowns, the team trained daily with the coaches committed to staying in Tuloy to continue their training. They took advantage of the lockdowns to focus on the principle of "play" to understand the priorities in attacking, defending, and transitioning to attack and defend.
Over the years, Luenthai Football School has hired acclaimed football coaches to produce top-caliber players. They have been offered full football scholarships from their universities and the Philippine National Football Team. Luenthai provided the necessary equipment, including their shirts, shoes, and soccer balls.
Tuloy has already produced seven national team players that have competed in international tournaments in Indonesia and Thailand in 2019 through this program. Today, we have five Tuloy FC players selected for the U19 Boys Philippine National Team to compete in international tournaments. While four girls were chosen to participate in the U18 Girls Philippine National Team training camp.
