Four Tuloy FC U18 girls will fly to Palembang, Indonesia, on the 22nd of July to compete for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) championship trophy.
They will take part in three games: 25th vs. Australia, 27th vs. Myanmar, and 29th vs. Malaysia. The winning teams will battle it out on the 2nd and 4th of August for the semi-final and championship games, respectively.
Two of the four Tuloy FC U18 girls had prior experience competing for the country, while the other two will have the privilege of competing and wearing the Philippines’ name for the first time.
One of the girls is a native of Cotabato, a town in the south of the Philippines, and grew up in the mountainside. Before joining the Tuloy team, she had zero football experience, but with hard work and dedication, she achieved her dream of representing and bringing pride to her country.
“I am so happy for all four girls. Their hard work has finally paid off despite the hardships of training during a pandemic.” Coach Taketomo said.
